Creel Value
Why show the team values when we really want to celebrate the indivdual achievement of over armed men (and ladies) against helpless creatures looking for lunch. Here's a much more interesting chart showing the creel values of each angler instead of each team. It's much easier to spot who is carrying who.
Department Rivalary
For the first time this year, the FESS/O group, er.. department managed to field two teams setting up an interesting interdepartment rivalary between the Crump Rangers of Engiineering and and Shull's Soilders of Maintence, I mean Operations. Looking at the stats and adjusting them to equalize the number of anglers, the FESS/E teams have outscored the FESS/O teams 781 to 115. Yikes, here's a chart:

Status Quo
I'm sure a lot of people try and figure out who is driven to perform during the tournament And why. And like a lot of things, the angling performance can be tied to one's status in the laboratory. For example, the Summer Students (aka "Casuals") tend to be laid back folks trying to figure thier place in the world and the results show it. The full timers (aka "Lifers") tend to perform at a level that shows they are in it for the long haul. And then there are the consultants (aka "MoMO$") that can fish better than the Lifers, but remain humble since one of the self absorbed full timers has to write a req to keep them around. Smart, very smart. Anyway, here's a chart that shows performance by status. Is anyone really surprised? Seriously, anyone?
Carp Pros 4 Ever
Is there really any doubt that the Carp Pros will win the tournament for a fourth consectutive year. Regular readers may recall that in 2005, Merle had an off day and landed only five (5) fish while Steve landed 27. The next week, Merle returned in force with a season high 60 fish while Steve landed a reasonable 45. Those two (2) weeks were the turning point in the 2005 Tournament as the Carp Pros went on to thier second consectutive championship. Oh by the way, the pond that Merle landed five (5) fish to Steve's 27: MI-10. The pond fished the following week: MI-60. As a warning, here's a chart that shows the lead by week that the Carp Pros have had on the second place team:
